Education is free in Nigeria and it is also compulsory. Even with this , about 10.5 million children of age 5 to 14years are not in School. Education is a once in a life time opportunity to open children's hearts and minds to unbelievable wonder of the universe.All children should have a right to at least a basic education irrespective of who they are,weather rich or poor. Education is not only about the past and present but the key to the future. The children of today are our future tomorrow, this is one of the reasons while they must have at least a basic education. LIKC Basic Education for Future Leaders(BEFL) , give scholarships to underprivileged children for basic education. We also organise seminars on the important of basic education along side with distribution of educational materials and also ensuring that children have comfortable environment for learning.
He who has health ,has hope and he who has hope has everything. When you are aware of what will affect your life negatively, you will know how to remain positive. LIKC Health Awareness programme carry out medical outreach in rural communities with free medical aids and health talk. We also do awareness relating to health issues on social media. We believe when you are aware of something, you sure can avoid it. We also help in the payment of medical bills for those who cannot afford it.
Emergency out reach and Food Basket: Some of our humanitarian services includes, distribution of food items(food basket),clothes and every item that can be useful to the needy in rural communities. We also reach out to the disabled ones in our society.
This is a yearly project and it's target time is basically the yuletide season, where we share love, gift items and food items to as many indigent persons around rural communities in Nigeria. Gift items of toys and snacks for children, food items for adults members of beneficiary families. Most times from smiles at Christmas, we are able to further help women who truly qualify and meet the requirements for our Women Empowerment Program.
